Nia Fletcher is a fifth-year architecture student at the Tulane School of Architecture and the Built Environment and a National Student Representative on the Board of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA). They previously served two years as President and Competition Team Lead for Tulane’s NOMAS chapter, rebuilding the organization into a sustainable, student-driven community and leading teams to consecutive national competition medals. Nia has also gained international experience through internships with Shigeru Ban Architects in Japan, and research focused on traditional craft practices, shaping their interest in community-centered, socially responsive design. In academic settings, they have served as a teaching assistant and research assistant, mentoring peers and fostering open dialogue around leadership, access, and accountability. Through their work with NOMA, Nia is committed to advancing equity, mentorship, and global perspectives within architectural education and practice, to inspire students at all stages of their education to step into leadership and create lasting impact.
