Speaker Bio

Iyanna Moment is a third-year architecture student at the University of Arkansas. With family roots in Dallas, Texas, she has a strong passion for designing architecture that is inclusive and fosters community. As the current Vice President of NOMAS UARK, she is dedicated to advocating for and expanding opportunities for minority students. Iyanna has a deep interest in history and sociology, recognizing how closely these disciplines intertwine with architecture and design. Throughout her academic career, she has approached her work with this mindset, most notably in her project Gathered Voices, which was featured in the 2025 AIA Elevate Exhibition. The project explores the integration of community cultural identity with modern architecture, aiming to connect generations while representing the richness of the community’s culture. Outside of academics, Iyanna enjoys creating art through writing and sketching. She is drawn to studying life and the systems people hold dear, using writing and drawing as tools to thoughtfully explore and document these ideas. Looking ahead, she hopes to continue studying how architecture can serve as an advocate—creating spaces that feel familiar, welcoming, and meaningful to everyone.
