Nicole Bass is a New York City–based architecture and design professional currently working as a Project Manager in the Alternative Delivery unit at the NYC Department of Design and Construction, where she supports the delivery of complex public capital projects that serve local communities across the city. Her work focuses on navigating public-sector processes, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and advancing equitable outcomes. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Nicole’s interest in the built environment was shaped early by travel, family, and exposure to diverse urban contexts. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the City College of New York, where she pursued coursework and internships at the intersection of architecture, planning, and policy. After her academic career, she served as the 2022–2023 National Vice President of the American Institute of Architecture Students, advocating for student voices and engaging institutional leadership on issues of access, education, and professional development. Nicole is currently working toward architectural licensure while exploring graduate study, research, and creative practice centered on public architecture, mixed-race identity, and community impact. Through both her professional role and independent work, she is interested in how design, governance, and cultural production can operate as tools for long-term public good.
