Speaker Bio

Dr. Eric Harris is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture and Urban Sustainability at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) and an advocate for Value-Inclusive Design (VID) practices. He recently earned his Doctorate in Urban Leadership and Entrepreneurship (ULAE) at UDC’s College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability, and Environmental Sciences (CAUSES). He is the recipient of several honors, including the CAUSES Aspiration Award for Architecture and Urban Sustainability, the Clarence Pearson Award for Leadership and Academic Performance, the Jason Pettigrew Memorial ARE Scholarship, and the OTJ Licensure Scholarship for Black Architects & Designers. Previously, Dr. Harris worked at several architecture firms in the Washington, DC area, where he contributed to residential, commercial, and institutional projects with a focus on affordable housing and sustainability. His academic background includes a Master of Architecture from UDC, a Master of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture and Design from George Washington University, an AAS in Business Technology, and a BBA in Marketing from UDC. His interdisciplinary expertise spans design, sustainability, administration, facilities management, marketing, and business development.
