Kathy Dixon, FAIA, NOMAC, LEED AP+, NCARB, CDT, is a licensed architect and Principal with K. Dixon Architecture, PLLC. She has been involved in every stage of the construction process and has experience in educational, commercial, and government projects. A graduate of Howard University’s School of Architecture, Ms. Dixon also received a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from UCLA, focusing on Housing and Community Development. During her career, Kathy has worked at numerous educational facilities in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. She worked on Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) projects for several years, including Potomac TRACON and several Air Traffic Control (ARTCC) facilities. Currently, Ms. Dixon is designing complex facilities for healthcare, science and technology, academic institutions, and other public clients.
Kathy served as the President of the National Organization of Minority Architects from 2012-2014, was honored with the 2022 AIA Whitney M Young Jr. Award with Riding the Vortex collaborators for their contributions to architecture for championing diversity in the profession, and is active in her church serving as a trustee.
