With over two decades of experience focused exclusively on healthcare planning and design, Kim Kavanagh is a healthcare principal and healthcare studio lead at Marshall Craft Associates. Kim is highly experienced in all phases of healthcare planning and design on various project types and sizes and is passionate about behavioral health planning and design. Kim is knowledgeable in the industry guidelines and the regulatory review process, and she strongly focuses on developing documentation standards and employing best design practices related to patient and staff safety. Kim is active in the health design industry and serves on the Women in Healthcare, Washington DC chapter board of directors. In addition, she mentors emerging design professionals interested in healthcare design and advocates for diversity and inclusion in the healthcare design profession.
