Description

Architects and designers play an essential role in helping to provide equitable access to quality behavioral health services across our communities--and closing the gaps of behavioral health disparities. This presentation is focused on how an iterative, user-focused design strategy and planning process can support inclusive behavioral healthcare delivery and create an inviting and safe healing environment for all. In this presentation, healthcare architect and Marshall Craft Associates Principal Kim Kavanagh will share her insights and perspective into planning and designing behavioral health facilities using case studies, having designed exclusively for the healthcare sector for over 20 years. Kim firmly believes that architecture can have a positive therapeutic effect on behavioral health patients' well-being and treatment outcomes.
