Speaker Bio
Larissa McFall is committed to integrating sustainability, equity, and social justice into her work. On the LEED Technical Development Team, she aids in promoting resilient and equitable solutions in LEED v5 and across the organization through the respective Working Groups. Previously the 2022 LEED for Cities Equity Fellow, McFall supported local governments in achieving equity goals during their pursuit of LEED certification and sustainability planning. She conducted an Equity Scan at the city scale, with insights shared at USGBC Live and Greenbuild in 2022.

She holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree and a minor in Construction Management from Drexel University. Her research interests encompass anthropology, culture, and people, evidenced by a certificate from MoMA’s “Reimagining Blackness and Architecture”. Since 2022, she has also served as a Teaching Assistant for Drexel University’s elective course titled Social Equity in Communities. These experiences influenced and culminated in Larissa’s senior capstone project, ”Black Space Reimagined: Reclaiming Resilience,” envisioning a cultural arts center and museum promoting community engagement through sustainable design and revitalizing public amenities away from tourism. It was also presented as part of a 2023 Greenbuild panel discussion of social equity at the building and design scale, aptly titled Environmental Justice: Start Here.
