Gensler recruiting him to help bolster their sciences practice area was one of the highlights of his career because it shows his growth in the sciences practice area. Sometimes African American males in architecture face the imposter syndrome and at times doubt their value as business professionals. Accepting this role was a reminder that 1, Joseph deserves a seat at the table and 2, the table needed him and is happy to have him.
