Joel is principal of CREATiVENESS, a unique design, technology and photography firm with a nationwide clientele. The company performs day to day IT consulting for organizations and assists with their acclimation to both common and cutting-edge technologies.
In 1999 the newly founded firm was awarded sixth place (out of 870 entries) in the international Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Competition. In 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 & 2008 Graphic Design USA recognized the firm with American Graphic Design Awards “for excellence in communication and graphic design”. In 2009 CREATiVENESS won Third Prize in the Landscape Architecture Category for the entry titled, ”Reflections & Remembrance” at the International Design Awards held in Los Angeles.
He regularly presents seminars at professional conferences throughout the US helping others to push the boundaries of art & architecture further than ever via digital means. His messages have been well received at NeoCon East, Build Boston and nearly every year since 2003 at the National Organization of Minority Architects Conference. In 2014 he chaired the NOMA conference in Philadelphia, the same town where he had been president of the local chapter. In 2020 he received NOMA’s “Founders Award” for his ongoing design & consulting services rendered to the organization.
