Making art has been a passion as early as I can remember, and as I developed an understanding of historic colonization and began to reckon with my own experiences of oppression in my body of a Queer and Brown person, art became a tool to explore difficult emotions and to explore themes of oppression and liberation. This direction grew into me working in art collectives with the goal of us creating spaces for our underrepresented communities to show and perform. As I studied fine art at Portland State, I came into contact with the concept of art as social practice, and since then my main practice has been as a community based artist giving communities tools and info to be able to design and install their own creative narratives in the spaces they inhabit.
