Crystal is an architect with 20+ years of experience in all phases of design and construction. Crystal’s project experience focuses on education and community projects. She brings a passion for community that is rooted in the belief that the built environment influences our every activity, our experience and our lifestyles, and she aspires to enrich communities and to design adaptable projects that meet the needs of today while providing for future generations. Crystal was the design team lead for the second in the nation tsunami vertical evacuation building, the Gladys Valley Marine Studies building at Oregon State University. She was featured on OPB speaking about the project and goals to make this campus a safe place for its residents. Crystal is on the board of the Architecture Foundation of Oregon (AFO) and has been volunteering with Architects in Schools for the last 8 years. She is a regular volunteer with Michael Ford’s Hip Hop Architecture program. She is one of the leaders of Integrus’ Equity Diversity & Inclusion Committee, helping to evolve the firm’s mission and policies for greater justice. She also practices Ikebana and has exhibited at the Portland Japanese Garden.
