Gilbert C Moore is a 4th Year Undergrad Architecture Student at Cal Poly Pomona. He is the former president of both the NOMAS (National Organization of Minority Architecture Students) chapters at Cal Poly Pomona (2024-2025) and East Los Angeles College (2021-2023). In 2025, he served as Assistant Director of the SoCal NOMA Architecture Bootcamp, leading the curriculum planning team and participating as an instructor and mentor for his 3rd year involved with the program. He is driven to the field of architecture by its connection to his other fields of interest including film, music and art-- with an emphasis on studying the intricacies of acoustic architecture and venue design. He has years of experience in internship positions, predominantly involving residential projects in LA. His passion is to support programs and projects that emphasize giving back to the community as well as democratizing the field of design by introducing both the youth and untutored adults to their resources when it comes to the world of architecture. It is his goal to help the profession veer away from its elitist roots and progress towards welcoming the communities it serves in order to achieve something that benefits all people, especially those in need of it the most. Gilbert has a deep love and respect for the history of his hometown of Los Angeles, from the diversity of its population to the wide array of historic movie theaters, concert venues, and museums he spends most of his spare time frequenting. His other hobbies include volunteering for non-profits, creating visual art, writing/directing short films, and playing the guitar.
