Craig Aquart, AIA, RID, CSI is a Principal at MCHarry and Associates, a third generation owner of the 60year old architectural firm that specializes in public sector work. He holds a Master of Architecture degree and is a registered architect in Florida and Jamaica with over 25 years of experience in the industry. Craig's passion for the community and the profession is best demonstrated through his leadership and commitment to the Architects in the Making (AIM) Program. He realized that educating middle and high school students about architecture is vital to the industry's positive development. He is concerned about diversity and inclusivity in the architectural profession, hence the founding of Black Architects in the Making (BAM). AIM's mission is to enhance all students' awareness about architecture. And due to the woefully under-representation of Black professionals in the architectural industry BAM's has targeted this same mission in communities where African-American students live, learn and play. Craig believes the nation as a whole would benefit from inclusivity in the profession. The United States is recognized world-wide for its exceptional creativity brought about through ethnic inclusivity in the music, dance, graphic and literary arts, and theatre industries. It is evident architecture would benefit from similar inclusivity.
