Naomi Harrison, a Florida licensed architect, is a Senior PM at MCHarry Associates, a 61-year-old Miami architectural firm specializing in public sector projects. There she oversees numerous K-12 projects serving Miami-Dade and Broward County Schools, the nation's 3rd and 6th largest school districts. Throughout her 25 year career at MCHA, Naomi has overseen $300M+ in construction projects from presentation through close out. Naomi comes from very humble beginnings, born in a bamboo hut in a small village on the island of Jamaica. Her formative years in Jamaica were filled with art and community, and from an early age she had a desire to be an architect to help build in underprivileged communities. Through her work as co-chair of the Black Architects in the Making - BAM - program, which she helped found, she continues her sense of community by helping, inspiring, and touching other lives with her passion for architecture. Through her involvement in BAM, AIA Miami, WIA, and her own personal mentorship of several high school and college students, she champions diversity, equity and inclusion in a profession she loves and knows that if others can see it, they can be it, they can do it, it indeed takes a village.
