Michael B. Kennedy, Jr. serves as CEO of KAI Enterprises, an MBE-certified, full-service design and build firm offering Architecture, MEPFP Engineering, Interior Design, Construction and Program Management services. Michael is a community engager with a passion for transforming depressed urban core neighborhoods into thriving communities. Involvement in the AEC industry and his community has always been important to Michael, who serves on several boards and mentoring organizations. A second-generation leader, Michael spends his time leading KAI's strategic vision, business alignment, expanding into new markets, developing new clients, and promoting diversity within the industry workforce. He has expanded KAI with the acquisition of five companies and the opening of branch offices in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX; San Antonio, TX; Atlanta, GA; Omaha, NE; Memphis, TN; and most recently Kansas City, KS. He has grown a diverse staff from 60 to over 170 and the firm's revenue from $8 million in his first year as president, to more than $50 million. Under his leadership, KAI has been recognized as a Top Workplace by the St. Louis Post Dispatch for 4 consecutive years, a Best Place to Work by the St. Louis Business Journal, and a Top DFW Workplace by The Dallas Morning News.
