Speaker Bio
Chris Goode Ruby Jean's Juicery Founder and CEO Chris Goode is the founder of the Emmy award-winning Ruby Jean's Juicery, based in Kansas City, MO. He launched the business in 2015 to honor his grandmother, Ruby Jean, who passed away prematurely from Type 2 diabetes. Chris believes she might still be alive today had she known about juicing and healthy living. He is committed to educating underrepresented communities and expanding juicing culture in Kansas City. The flagship Ruby Jean's location at 30th and Troost, in a historic food desert, was strategically opened near his childhood neighborhood. It is the first health-focused business on Kansas City's East Side, built on land now owned by his family. Chris recently founded Ruby Jean's Foundation to address health disparities in vulnerable populations. A key initiative, Ruby Jean's Garden, will provide nourishment and foster community ownership, accountability, and reciprocity. Located on the street where Chris grew up, the garden will be a pillar of the foundation's mission. Chris has served on several Kansas City boards, including Parks & Recreation, where he contributed to renaming JC Nichols Parkway, honoring Dr. King with MLK Blvd, and advocating for projects like a $3M bridge for MLK Park.
