Marcus Hazelwood, CEM, LEED AP BD+C is an energy engineer, sustainability advisor, and host of the Clear HazeExchange podcast, where he highlights the people and ideas shaping a more efficient, resilient built environment. He brings nearly 20 years of hands-on experience working across building design, construction, and operations.
Marcus has led energy efficiency, decarbonization, and green building efforts for universities, cities, and private organizations across the U.S., helping teams deliver over $6 million in verified energy and lifecycle cost savings. His work includes energy modeling, commissioning, LEED certification, retrofits, benchmarking, and ESG reporting across complex building types such as laboratories, data centers, healthcare, higher education, hospitality, and commercial real estate.

He is a Principal & Director of Building Optimization at EA Energy Solutions, where he advises owners, architects, engineers, and contractors on how to turn sustainability goals into real, measurable performance. Marcus is also an experienced educator and speaker, having taught and presented at Harvard University, USGBC, HalfMoonEducation, and Endicott College.
