JaNyah R. Gholar is a fourth-year Master of Architecture student at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia, actively pursuing architectural licensure through the Integrated Path to Architectural Licensure (IPAL) program. Her academic and professional work has been nationally recognized, including features through AIA Virginia’s J.E.D.I. (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) initiative and NCARB’s Architectural Spotlight blog, highlighting her early engagement with equity-centered pathways into the profession. Ms. Gholar began her architectural training in her hometown of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, shadowing at Landry Lewis Germany Architects, P.A. as a freshman, and has since continued her professional development through IPAL internship experience at KEi Architects in Richmond, Virginia. Her design interests focus on the relationship between the natural and built environment, with a goal of creating architecture that allows the two to exist in seamless dialogue. As a participant in this presentation, Ms. Gholar represents the next generation of architects advancing licensure access, professional visibility, and inclusive excellence within the discipline.
