Kim A. Robinson is a retired law enforcement and forensic professional whose four-decade career with the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) reflects extraordinary dedication to public safety, technical expertise, and community leadership. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, Kim joined MPD in 1980 as a police officer before transitioning to forensic identification. From 1985 to 2003, he served as a Police Identification Technician, later making history in 2003 when he became the first African American Police Identification Supervisor of the Identification Section. His work was pivotal in major investigations, including the identification of victims of Midwest Air Express Flight #105 following the 1985 crash. Beyond law enforcement, Kim is a respected entrepreneur, freelance photographer, and sports photojournalist whose work serves both local and national media. A dedicated servant leader, he supports youth and community initiatives through his extensive involvement in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation of Southeastern Wisconsin, and Albright Trinity United Methodist Church. Kim is also committed to preserving the legacy of his father, Alonzo Robinson Jr., Wisconsin’s first licensed African American architect, ensuring his architectural contributions remain a visible part of Milwaukee’s cultural history.
