Speaker Bio

Nyasha Felder is an architectural designer with a multidisciplinary background spanning architecture, landscape architecture, UX/UI design, and education. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Morgan State University and dual master’s degrees in Architecture and Landscape Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania’s Weitzman School of Design. Her professional work integrates environmental and social justice through design approaches rooted in Afrofuturism, ecology, landscape resilience, and active community engagement. Nyasha brings a strong understanding of spatial and interaction design to her practice, creating inclusive, user-centered environments that advance equity and accessibility. She is particularly skilled at synthesizing complex, multivariable data into clear, elegant design solutions, supported by a technical toolkit including ArcGIS, Rhino 3D/Grasshopper, and digital prototyping tools. Nyasha is also an experienced educator, serving as an instructor at Drexel University and previously as an adjunct professor at Thomas Jefferson University. Her teaching emphasizes immersive, project-based learning grounded in user engagement, geospatial analysis, and pragmatic design outcomes, consistently earning positive student feedback. At KMA, Nyasha contributes to a range of projects, including community-based work with Philadelphia’s Water Department, supporting design, documentation, visualization, and client engagement while advancing environmentally and socially responsive design across Philadelphia’s neighborhoods.
