I am Khamaria Turner, a Master of Architecture candidate at Florida A&M University, from Miami, and the oldest of four raised by a resilient mother. Growing up in this environment shaped how I approach learning and collaboration. I am observant, adaptable, and comfortable stepping into leadership when needed. Being surrounded by layered cultures and creativity continues to influence how I think about community, place, and the role architecture can play. My creative practice spans architecture and art across multiple mediums, shaping how I think about space as something felt, inhabited, and remembered rather than simply constructed. I have worked in historic preservation and digital heritage research, documenting and interpreting existing structures while exploring ways memory and storytelling remain active within contemporary environments. Alongside this, I engage emerging technologies as tools for access, education, and empowerment. Introducing the youth to robotic processes and participating in community outreach has reinforced my belief that architectural knowledge thrives when shared. I have also collaborated on community-centered design proposals rooted in local narratives and adaptive reuse. At the core of my work is a commitment to designing with care, honoring people, place, and process while creating spaces that invite participation, joy, and connection.
