Bedgid Laguerre is an architectural designer whose work focuses on culturally informed design with community-based principles. She has held leadership and advocacy roles throughout her academic and professional career, including serving as Co-Chair of Women in Architecture and as a board member and Media Director for Black Architects in the Making in Orlando. She has also served as a Sam Fox Ambassador Fellow and Research Assistant at Washington University in St. Louis. These roles helped shape her commitment to mentorship and professional advocacy. Building on this work, she was a speaker at the 2025 International Archive of Women in Architecture (IAWA) Symposium at Virginia Tech, where she presented on the topic of mentorship beyond cultural identities in architecture. Bedgid earned her Master of Architecture from the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis in May 2026. Her current interests include the role of artificial intelligence in architectural practice and its relationship to cultural identity, with a focus on new design logics.
