Christian Joosse, NOMA, AIA, NCARB, Fitwel Ambassador, is an architect at Moody Nolan Inc., published author advocating for minority voices in the architecture profession, and serves as the 2026 Vice President of the Columbus Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects. Christian received her B.S. in Architecture from Kent State University with a minor in historic preservation at the Florence Center in Florence, Italy and M. Arch with human studies research partnership at Sichuan University, in Chengdu, China, focused on rapid migration and large-scale housing implications. At Moody Nolan’s National Housing Practice, she serves as a lead student housing designer, respectfully reflecting upon systemic challenges to honor and empower the communities in which she works. Her work across multiple disciplines demonstrates she is a passionate advocate for creating inclusive environments. As the 525th licensed black women architect, her volunteer work with the AIA Strategic Council during the development of the AIA Guides for Equitable Practice strengthened her ambition to create inclusive communities. In 2022, she was honored to be selected as an AIA Young Architect Award juror, valuing her decade of dedication to emerging professionals and international collaborations as a mentor in the Mandela Washington Fellowship Program for Young African Leaders.
