Description

The focus on inclusion and diversity within the architecture profession has only recently gained significant attention. People of color have long faced challenges in their workplaces, and for architects born outside of the U.S., the journey can be even more arduous. This session aims to shed light on the experiences of immigrant architects and how they navigated their career paths to achieve success. Our engaging seminar will feature a dynamic panel discussion, presenting firsthand accounts from immigrant architects across the country. These professionals will share compelling narratives of overcoming cultural and language barriers, addressing instances of discrimination encountered on their career paths. Through these stories, attendees will gain valuable insights into navigating challenges and fostering an inclusive professional environment. Additionally, panelists will discuss their volunteer work in local communities, their contributions to the country, and their journey to developing a love for their adopted homeland.
