The Spiral was designed pre-pandemic but sets a new paradigm for post-pandemic workplace by providing access to outdoor space at every level. The biophilic design provides direct access to outdoor spaces with trees, benches, planters, and climbing vines. When we think of community, we think of the neighborhoods where we live, but The Spiral reimagines the concept of a workplace community. Access to outdoor spaces now more than ever speaks to the rising demand for a more integrated work/leisure experience, better stress management in corporate environment and observations show that the terraces are actively used by tenants at all levels of the tower. The Spiral stands out on the New York skyline by elevating green into the vertical dimension in a highly dense urban environment. Rainwater is collected from the roofs and used to passively irrigate the 13,000 square feet of vegetation. The Spiral's innovative approach to exterior space is echoed on the interior by the allowance for indoor atrium workspaces that can connect directly to terraces while creating vertically connected interior spaces. The Spiral integrates the principles of environmental, social and governance (ESG) at its core and is on track to achieve LEED Gold Certification.
