Andreea is an award winning architectural and landscape architectural designer, researcher, and educator interested in the intersection of geology, biology, ecology, and landscape architecture in the context of the (post-)Anthropocene. Her research and practice agendas focus on deeply understanding the perpetually changing ecosystems surrounding us, while pushing the boundaries of the traditional methods of deploying designs into the built environment.
Her graduate thesis and ongoing research, “After Plastics: The Gardens of the Glacial Foreland”, has been granted several national and international awards by the BSLA, ASLA, and WLA, and it was exhibited as one of the Independent Projects in the Lisbon Architecture Triennale – TERRA in 2022.
Andreea has been a member of NOMA since moving to the US for college, serving in different capacities both as a student and professional. She was the Founding President of NOMAS-LTU, followed by taking on the role of Student Representative for the NOMA Detroit Chapter. She later became the 2016-2017 NOMAS National Student Representative, and upon graduating from her master’s program, she was appointed the Midwest Region University Liaison.
