Mel Loyola Agosto is a designer at MARVEL, based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She has previous experience working on NYC public schools as an architectural consultant for NYSCA, a University Master Plan, and smaller residential projects. She is a member of nycobaNOMA, having served in various roles such as the executive board corresponding secretary, ARE Study Group Co-Chair, Project Pipeline Co-Chair, and member of the Membership Committee. She also volunteers for Techos Pa’ Mi Gente, a non-profit dedicated to rebuilding roofs for damaged homes in Puerto Rico. Living in Puerto Rico for the first time in over 30 years, Mel is motivated to combine architecture, media, and community outreach to spread awareness of the impact of design to help improve living and communal spaces on the island.
