Speaker Bio
Mustapha is a licensed architect at Gensler Chicago. He joined the ACE Mentorship Program in high school, interned at the Nashville Civic Design Center, and eventually graduated from The University of Tennessee College of Architecture and Design. Mustapha won 1st place in the national Gensler Diversity Scholarship competition, earning an internship in Chicago. Since returning to Gensler, Mustapha has gained experience in several projects and competitions – workplace, critical facilities, and community centers. Workplace projects include the LinkedIn Chicago HQ, Real Trucking’s USA HQ, and others. He has also worked on visioning and concept design for community centers on the south and west sides of Chicago. He has worked on projects of various scales from interiors to architecture throughout his 5 years at Gensler. Community engagement, professional development, and diversity in the industry are important to him. Mustapha joined the Chicago ACE Mentor Program and Gensler's Regional Summer Intern Committee. Previously serving on the Board, he has been appointed the Professional Development Co-Chair of I-NOMA. He is a member of the ACE Chicago Associates Board, a licensed architect in Illinois, and Gensler’s Regional Community Impact Leader.
