Ms. Melanie Ray is a Project Architect in the Affordable Housing Studio. She has worked on projects ranging from 11-story concrete high-rises in city centers to adaptive reuse apartments that transform waterfronts. Melanie’s experience has crafted her desire to work on projects that directly influence the urban spaces that humans thrive and interact in, while at the same time are conscience to the communities around them. Melanie also finds reward in community outreach projects. Melanie is also a founding member and current chapter president of the Baltimore Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects, Bmore NOMA. She constantly looks for opportunities to expand her outreach through the mission and initiatives of the chapter as well as through charitable work. In 2021, she was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Neighborhood Design Center in Baltimore.
