Jeanie Lai is a design principal at Bora Architecture & Interiors in Portland, Oregon. As an architect and interior designer, she works across multiple scales, weaving compelling concepts, craft, and materiality to create authentic places that unite people, cultures, and history. Passionate about design as an agent of positive change, she is an active advocate for equity-centered design, leading a design process that elevates listening and lived experiences, challenging preconceived ideas and power dynamics to create more inclusive, socially just and sustainable environments. Jeanie has led the design of numerous projects in her 24-year career, with experience in academic environments, civic and cultural centers, and collaborative workspaces.
