Description

The Cultural Crossing Project, as its name implies, is grounded in a big vision: a place where different cultures can come together and share perspectives, histories, cultures, and traditions. This goal influenced every aspect of the project and will be discussed in depth in this presentation. Beginning with a multi-cultural and multi-national team, we will present the unique story behind this project’s design, technical development, and implementation. We will explore how collaboration between disciplines led to a richer project, how clear roles and communication led to a unified team and how a truly democratic and shared approach led to an exemplary design where each element is working seamlessly together. We will discuss the ways in which our multi-cultural team ensured authenticity, and contributed specific cultural knowledge to the project’s design, technical development and construction. We will talk about how the team’s collaborative work led to a space that is accessible and inclusive, so that it can serve as a learning platform for all.
