It is no secret that the architectural licensing journey is a long and daunting one. After spending many years in school and earning their degree, architecture graduates still seem to be in the dark about the actual licensure process as the subject is rarely touched upon within education. Graduates question where to begin and have difficulty finding the right resources among the superfluity of material. This presentation aims to clarify the required steps for getting licensed and demystify any misconceptions about the ARE exams from the perspective of two licensed architects who have recently completed the AXP and ARE 5.0. Students can expect to explore how and where to start the licensure process, learn what to expect with the ARE 5.0, gain greater confidence in beginning their licensure journey, and have the opportunity to ask any questions they may have regarding licensure in an informal conversation.
