Description

Baltimore City Public Schools (City Schools) system, one of the oldest and most historic public school systems in the United States. With approximately 75,000 students and a 73% African American demographic, the Office of Facilities Design and Construction, which manages capital projects for the City Schools, is responsible for approximately 150 schools, 10 administrative buildings, as well as several modular and portable buildings. Throughout this session, we will examine a range of design projects that have been completed within the City Schools system. These projects will include both new construction and renovations of existing structures. We will learn about the innovative design strategies employed in each project, including sustainability, material usage, and technical expertise.
