Description
This course is about the design process for the National Juneteenth Museum in Fort Worth, Texas. The project is more than a museum and is intended to be a catalyst for positive change, economic investment and renewed cultural impact for the long disenfranchised black community of the Historic Southside. This course will explore how the design and development teams partnered with community leaders to establish goals for successful development without displacing current residents. We will share studies how the concept of freedom is universal and can be interpreted into an architectural expression.
