Mr. Dixon has more than 25 years of professional business and marketing experience in the restaurant, hospitality, real estate, and entrepreneurial education industries.

Work Experience
Mr. Dixon is founder of the Kansas City Business Center for Entrepreneurial Development, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing start up minority businesses in the Kansas City Metro area and the Managing Member of the 18th Street Redevelopment Corporation. The mission of this organization is to redevelop the urban and rural city economic base through the creation of new business and the expansion of existing businesses in low income targeted areas, create and retain employment opportunities by develop and advocating the implementation of business ventures that result in increased employment opportunities for area residents, foster Minority entrepreneurship by providing financial management and technical resources to assist in organizing, developing and or expanding industrial, commercial and real estate business ventures, and develop stronger communities and families through entrepreneurial education and counseling in areas such as alcohol and drug abuse, anger management, and conflict resolution.

Mr. Dixon currently serves as the volunteer President and Chief Operating Officer for the Kansas City Business Center for Entrepreneurial Development Inc., responsible for the planning cycle requirements including budgeting, development and review of profits and operating plans, short and long range forecasting, economic analysis of client’s start up investments, and generation of their business plans.

Mr. Dixon is the Founder and developer of The Original Wings and Things Restaurant Franchises, a specialty foodservice operation located in Kansas City, Missouri. Specific duties included planning the startup operations from conceptual stage to annual sales over seven million dollars. He was the master planner, developer and general contractor for the rollout of 27 restaurant franchise stores. Responsibilities included property acquisition, design, construction document preparation, preliminary cost estimates, construction coordination, leasing and management.

Mr. Dixon managed the national corporate purchasing function for multiple Fortune 500 companies. He determined their supply needs and market potentials, maintained current and accurate records reflecting pricing trends, and achieved constant monitoring of replenishment rates and turnover to ensure maintenance of optimum plant inventories. He developed a six sigma plan for the procurement of commodities for the respective industry systems, converted sales forecast to specific CYA projections, rated suppliers on vendor delivery performance, developed cost reduction projects and visited supplier’s plants.
