Dr. L. David Stewart is an urban designer, educator, and business scientist with a background in architecture. As
Director of Design Practice at Territory NFP, he focuses on economic and environmental justice for Black and Brown
communities in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood. Dr. Stewart has taught architecture for over 13 years at institutions like
National Louis University. He holds a B.A. in Architectural Studies, an M.S. in Real Estate, an MBA, and a DBA. An avid
runner, roller skater, and photographer, he also co-hosts the podcast “They Ain’t Ready” and serves on boards
promoting environmental justice and equity.
