Jeffrey G Butts, Jr., Assoc. AIA, NOMA, is a world-traveled architectural design professional based in Norfolk, Virginia, working for Hanbury, where he has received multiple design awards. A Howard University graduate with a Bachelor of Architecture, his first job out of college took him to Bangalore, India, where he worked for nearly five years. While there, Jeffrey founded Paramorphous, an art and design collective, and was featured in publications for his exhibitions [Un]Wrapture (2014) and Myself Mohan (2016). After returning stateside in 2016, he joined Hanbury, where he began serving AIA Hampton Roads (now AIA Coastal Virginia) and reignited the Young Architects Forum (YAF). His YAF committee earned the AIA College of Fellows Component Grant to fund the first-ever YAFCON micro-conference at AIA Virginia's ArchEx in 2018. That year, he was appointed AIA Regional Associate Director of the Virginias for a two-year term. In 2020, Jeffrey helped co-found VANOMA. His story continues to unfold, serving his community and letting the Most High God guide his path.
