Derwin Broughton serves as the Principal and Vice President of KAI Enterprises, where he oversees Business Development and Client Relationships for the firm's offices in Texas and Georgia. He is the immediate past President of the Texas Society of Architects (TxA), which is the third-largest component of the American Institute of Architects with nearly 8,000 members. Additionally, Derwin is a former president of the Dallas Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects. His previous roles also include serving as the Vice President for the Community and Economic Development Corporation for the City of Duncanville. In 2013, Derwin was honored by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) with the Young Architects Award. In 2015, he was named one of the 20 Under 40 by Engineering News and Report, recognizing his impact on the construction industry and community. The Dallas Business Journal also recognized him as one of the 20 Under 40 professionals making significant contributions to their communities and careers in 2017. Originally from South Carolina and a graduate of Clemson University, Derwin is married to his college sweetheart, Michele.
