Originally from Puerto Rico, Patricia Negron Melendez is an Architecture student at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and participating in the Integrated Path to Architectural Licensure (IPAL) program. She is actively engaged in leadership and mentorship roles, serving as Co-President of SCAD NOMAS and Co-Project Manager for the SCAD NOMAS competition team, where she is dedicated to fostering inclusive design practices and guiding the team through high-level architectural challenges. In addition to their work with NOMAS, Patricia serves as the Professional Development Chair for SCAD AIAS, organizing events and opportunities that help students connect with industry professionals and advance their careers. She is also involved at the national level as a NOMA Student Representative and AIAS NOMA Liaison, working to strengthen connections between students and professional organizations to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in architecture. Beyond leadership and academics, Patricia is passionate about mentorship, supporting fellow students as they navigate their architectural journeys. Her cultural background deeply influences her design perspective, inspiring her to explore identity, community, and resilience in architecture. With a strong commitment to professional growth, advocacy, and innovation, Patricia strives to create impactful and meaningful spaces that reflect diverse narratives and elevate underrepresented voices in the built environment.
